George of Celtic Thunder

This is a portrait of George Donaldson, one of five singers for the performance group, Celtic Thunder. He's my mother's favorite, so this is a gift for her. It was drawn with a variety of colored pencils (I have a jumble of brands, but I'd rather not list them if that's fine with you!) on a piece of art paper that is, unfortunately, a bit larger than my scanner. Reference images for Mr. Donaldson, backgrounds, and the Celtic knots are from the Celtic Thunder tour book.

Now this is the part where I tell you to listen to Celtic Thunder if you haven't done so. Their concert is repeated on PBS fairly regularly, so you might be able to see them for free. I saw Celtic Thunder live last year, and I can honestly say that I think it's a mind-blowing show. George, Paul, Ryan, Keith, and Damian are all amazingly talented, and--well. Google them, see if you can find a free listen to some songs. I highly recommend their version of "Danny Boy" as an introduction!
